Description by Andronix Apps(from Google Play)
Andronix installs a full Linux system on your Android phone. No root needed ⚡️
WHAT'S NEW IN ANDRONIX 2.0 • A new installer: one command sets everything up, checks every download, and fixes itself for your phone. • Real desktops in Termux:X11, with sound and Firefox that plays video. • Modded OS 2.0: five ready-made desktops, styled and set up by Andronix. • A calmer, redesigned app: report a problem in a tap, and get notified when your install finishes. • Now in 7 languages.
HOW IT WORKS Andronix runs Linux with PRoot inside Termux, so nothing on your phone is changed and no root is needed. Pick a distro and a desktop in the app, copy the command, and paste it into Termux. The installer does the rest.
FREE LINUX DISTROS Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, Debian 13, Kali, Fedora, Arch, Manjaro, Alpine and Void, with your choice of desktop: XFCE, LXQt, MATE or KDE Plasma (KDE on Ubuntu, Debian and Kali). All free, no ads.
MODDED OS 2.0 Ready-made desktops, styled and tuned by Andronix: Ubuntu XFCE, Ubuntu KDE, Debian XFCE, Manjaro XFCE and Kali XFCE. Buy one edition, or get the Modded Pass for all five, with updates included. If you bought a Classic Modded OS before, it stays yours to install.
ANDRONIX PREMIUM Early access to new editions and beta installers, higher download limits, a spot on the supporter wall, and a lower price on the Modded Pass. It's also the best way to support Andronix.
WHAT YOU CAN DO Browse, code, learn Linux, run servers and tools: anything that doesn't need the full Linux kernel. Some things are limited by Android itself (for example, most pen-testing tools that need raw network access).
REQUIREMENTS • Android 7.0 or newer. • Termux from F-Droid or GitHub (the app links you to it). • ARM64, ARM, x86_64 or x86. • On phones with a kernel older than 4.8 (many Android 8 and 9 phones), the command line works but desktops don't.
OPEN SOURCE The Andronix installer and all the free distros are open source on GitHub. The app and Modded OS are how we keep the project going.

Recent changes: Andronix 10.0.5 • After a desktop install, Andronix tells you when Termux:X11 is still missing and links the download • Report a problem: add your email so we can reply, even when you're not signed in • Fixes and fewer unnecessary error reports

Great idea! Especially to be used in the terminal, GUI are not realy usable in a phone. Ubuntu works well. Kali in the terminal do not show different colors for files, folders... Manjaro is not recognizing Pac-Man -Syu and text colors are not working. Fedora works well. Do not update the package manager!

It does something quite clever: implements a desktop on top of Termux, which is far more lightweight than Overland. While it does 'work', the base distros are aging (e.g. Ubuntu 22.04) and updates can fail, meaning newer applications can't install. Persistence was also a problem, as Termux did not seem to get modified. I also dislike logging into a session as root. You could pay for the Modified OS, but the free version did not instill enough confidence in me.

It's an amazing way to learning Linux and how it works. You can also use it to accomplish some basic tasks such LibreOffice, playing sound and video etc. For me, it was a great way of learning since I don't always have my PC at hand. It does have its limitations though, OpenGL doesn't function due to Kernel not being properly installed, and you can't update grub with the new Kernel version since without root you won't have access to the /dev directory. But overall great tool for learning.

Purchased pro and an Ubuntu mod neither of witch I can get to work total waste of money can't get ahold of any customer support either... far as I can tell user land works 💯 plus doesn't need a vnc viewer

I had high hopes for this, but it's currently NOT easy to use. Even after purchasing a modded OS inside the app, the installation commands fail to work in Termux. I spent a couple of hours trying to fix the issue. I'm not creating a Discord account just to spend more time on this.

Technical support seems to be non-existent, they don't respond. You don't need this anyway, just use proot-distro that comes with Termux to install a Linux distro. Don't waste your money on this app.
