Welcome to the Magnificat Angelus App ! Thanks to the Angelus App brought to you by MAGNIFICAT, you will be able to say this wonderful traditional prayer throughout the day, like so many generations before!
In some places, the church bells still ring daily in the morning, at noon, and in the evening. The Angelus is a very ancient prayer commemorating the Angel’s message (Angelus) to Mary, announcing to her that she will give birth to Jesus.
This prayer is first and foremost a commemoration of the mystery of the Incarnation: God made man to save us all. By reciting it with a faithful heart, it allows you to unite your everyday life, its joys and sorrows, to God who became one of us. Taking precedence over any daily activity at a specific time, it reminds us “One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God” (Mt 4:4), and even more so from the Incarnate Word, our Lord Jesus Christ!
In order to help you establish the habit of praying the Angelus daily, you will be given the opportunity to set up reminders at the hours most convenient for your schedule (by default at 8am, 12pm, and 8pm).
You will also be able to watch weekly videos of the Angelus recited by the Pope along with the faithful gathered in Saint Peter’s Square at the Vatican.
Your Angelus app is available in Latin and in every language of the MAGNIFICAT editions: English, French, German, Spanish, Polish, Lithuanian and Slovenian.

I really find this app useful for reminding me to pray the Angelus. It updates to the Regina Cali during Easter tide. It just did not update on Easter but did so eventually. Highly recommended.

Very helpful. My only complaint is that I would like to be able to set it to notify me at specific times of the day, i.e. noon and 6:00 p.m. I really like that it changes the prayer for Easter Season, so I don't have to remember that!

Great app in English as well as Latin. Church bells as well reminds me of my childhood when the bells would ring the call to say the Angelus. The only thing is that I wish the reminders would be more prevalent-sometimes 6pm or noon passes; the reminder is there, but it is silent, and I miss it sometimes. If you could add a vibrating alarm at Angelus time that would be great.

Please update this app so that it will be able to be moved into external memory (SD card). That way people with old Android phones like myself which have only a small amount of internal memory will be able to install and then to move this app into external memory. This is something that most app makers do not think of in our fast-paced world which continuously chooses conspicuous consumption over allegiance to God.

This is a very beautiful app, and I would have given it 5 stars, but the picture of the ANTIPOPE disgraces it. WAKE UP AND GET INFORMED OF ALL THAT IDIOT IS DOING AGAINST THE CATHOLIC FAITH. Only when you remove him, then I will rate it excellent.

I thought this app would ring the Angelus for me at the correct times. It does not. It rings "Immaculate Mary".
