AnkiBlock: Study to Unlock

AnkiBlock helps you stay focused by blocking distracting apps until you finish your AnkiDroid study goal.

Choose the apps that pull you away from studying, set your card goal, and AnkiBlock keeps them locked until your AnkiDroid progress says the work is done.

AnkiBlock is built for students, language learners, exam season, and anyone who already uses AnkiDroid but wants a stronger reason to stay consistent.

Study first. Unlock later.

AnkiBlock turns your distracting apps into a reward.

Instead of opening social media, videos, games, or forums before studying, you complete your AnkiDroid cards first. Once your goal is reached, your apps unlock.

Works with AnkiDroid

AnkiBlock requires AnkiDroid.

It does not replace AnkiDroid and does not include its own flashcard system. Instead, it works together with AnkiDroid and uses your real AnkiDroid study progress to decide when your blocked apps unlock.

Block your most distracting apps

Choose the apps you want to block, such as:

short video apps
social media
video apps
games
forums
messaging apps
browsers
any other app that distracts you

You stay in control of what gets blocked.

Two ways to unlock

AnkiBlock is strict, but flexible.

Use a smaller goal to unlock one app for a break, or complete your full daily goal to unlock all blocked apps.

Need to quickly check something? You can temporarily unlock a blocked app for 60 seconds, up to 3 times per day.

Built for exam season

When exams are close, distraction gets expensive.

AnkiBlock helps turn your phone into a study-first device. Set your daily AnkiDroid goal, keep distracting apps locked, and make scrolling wait until your revision is done.

Track your study pattern

See how many cards you studied each day and compare this week with last week.

AnkiBlock helps you understand your consistency over time, not just whether you studied today.

Free, ad-free, and open source

AnkiBlock is:

100% free
ad-free
open source
built for students, not for profit

No ads. No subscriptions. No distraction business model.
