Anvil Hero: Merge Swords

A forge drops blades onto your anvil's grid. Drag two of the same blade together and they become the next one up. Your hero always holds the best blade you have made, and fights the monsters by himself while you forge.

HOW IT PLAYS

Tap the anvil to forge faster. Drag a blade onto its twin to merge it, onto an empty cell to move it, or into the melt pot for a few coins. Every merge that makes a new best blade is swung at once as a forge strike, for eight times the damage, and every fifteen merges charge another one.

Each zone is five waves, and the fifth is a boss on a 30-second clock. Run out of time and you choose: watch an advert for 15 more seconds, or let the hero farm coins and come back stronger.

30 BLADES, EACH ITS OWN

The ladder starts with a stick and climbs through clubs, knives, bronze, iron, steel, gems, gold, crystal and fire to Last Light, tier 30. Every tier has its own shape and colour, and every new one you make goes into the codex and adds damage for good. Past tier 30 the merging carries on.

ZONES, BOSSES AND THE ROAD AHEAD

- 30 zones across six regions, each with its own monsters and its own boss
- Endless zones after zone 30, for as long as you like
- Up to three stars for every boss, by how much of its clock you had left
- Upgrades for the forge's speed and the tier it drops, plus sharpness, fortune, haste and a keen edge
- Reforge after zone 15: start again with embers that multiply your damage and coins for good

COMES BACK TO YOU

- The forge keeps working while you are away, for up to eight hours, and your hero keeps earning
- A daily forge: one boss, the same for everyone, with a streak to keep
- A daily gift that grows over seven days

THE FAIR PART

- No energy and no waiting to play. Fight as long as you like.
- The first zone teaches you as you play, a step at a time.
- Plays offline; only the adverts need a connection. Your progress is saved on your phone.

ADVERTS

Adverts keep it free. A short advert may play when you leave the card after a region's last boss, every fifth zone: never during a fight, never in your first session and never before your fourth boss. Every other advert is one you choose to watch, for a bonus marked AD: the coins your hero earned while you were away a second time, double a boss's pay, 15 more seconds on a boss, Hot forge (every blade drops two tiers higher for three minutes), Auto-merge for five minutes, double today's gift, or a lapsed daily streak back. There are no banner adverts.
