RECORD
• One big key to record, press again to pause. 48 kHz / 16-bit WAV.
• Keeps recording with the screen off or while you use other apps.
• Memo shortcut: long-press the icon and pick memo, and it's already recording.
• Side-button memo: turn it on in settings, make it the side button's double-press app, and it starts recording at once, even from the lock screen.
• Optional noise reduction for speech.
• Touch the reel while recording to go off the record; let go to carry on.
PLAY LIKE TAPE
• Turn the reel to scrub and scratch; touch it to hold the tape.
• Hold the lever to wind forward or rewind at 8×, and hear it wind.
• Tapes start and stop like a real motor. Keys click under your thumb with haptic feedback.
• Two finishes: silver and graphite.
KEEP AND SHARE
• A tape list beside the face on the big screen, one tap away on the cover screen.
• Rename, share, or export tapes to the shared Recordings folder. Every tape is a plain WAV file.
TAPE TO TEXT (optional, off by default)
• Pick a transcription engine: Gemini Flash, ElevenLabs Scribe, OpenAI Whisper, OpenAI gpt-4o, or your own whisper.cpp server. Bring your own API key.
• Nothing leaves your phone until you tap transcribe on a tape. Keys stay on the phone and are left out of backups.
• Transcribing carries on when you leave the app, and a notification tells you when it's ready.
BRAIN AI (optional)
• Summarize, explain, formalize, casualize, write an article or draw a mind map you can pan and pinch, from any transcript.
• Add your own actions with your own prompt.
• Runs on your own OpenAI-compatible LLM server (Ollama, llama.cpp, LM Studio or a LiteLLM proxy). Answers come straight away; turn on thinking and pick the effort (low, medium, high) for deeper answers.
No account. No ads. No tracking.
Designed for the Galaxy Z Fold 8: the cover screen shows the recorder alone; the inner screen adds a permanent tape list. Needs Android 14 or newer.
