Description
Andhra Pradesh Govt. to Organise POLYTECH Fest 2018
The state government of Andhra Pradesh is set to organise state-level POLYTECH Fest 2018 on September 23 and 24 at Andhra University (AU) Convention Centre, Visakhapatnam. AP POLYTECH Fest 2018 is a unique event that highlights the projects developed by polytechnic students of government and private polytechnic colleges across the state. Students will come up with projects in the field of mechanical, civil and electrical engineering majorly. This year, over 1,850 projects will be exhibited at the event.
The best project will be awarded a cash prize by the state government. The details regarding cash prize are given below: -
Best Project 1st Prize – Rs. 50,000 Best Project 2nd Prize – Rs. 20,000 Best Project 3rd Prize – Rs. 15,000 Two Consolation Prizes – Cash Prize Top 10 best Projects regardless of branch of idea/project identified by the jury will be awarded prizes on the final day of the POLYTECH FEST. Already, the state government had conducted district level polytech fest to select the best projects for the state-level competition. Directorate of Technical Education, Andhra Pradesh directed government polytechnics to come with at least three projects so that the respective institute would not come under poor performance category.

Out of the total projects submitted at the district level, the expert committee shortlisted 1,850 projects for the state-level competition. These projects will go for final evaluation at the state level competition.
AP POLYTECH Fest 2018 Parameters for Evaluating Ideas/ Projects: Students who are selected for the state-level competition must note that their projects will be evaluated on the basis of following parameters: -
Creativity and Originality Scalability Robustness Potential of Impact Design The best project or idea can be converted into a commercial model in the future, and the state government will support students who come up with the best projects or ideas
