Apocalyptic Prophecy

This theme is the basis for study and reflection for the 10 days of prayer and 10 hours of fasting.

This chapter examines the concept of apocalyptic prophecy within the Hebrew Bible, arguing that it is a meaningful and helpful rubric. The world is moving so fast that we can't follow the pace with the news. You have a speed so powerful that you can overcome the others and even the most impressive tragedies are soon forgotten because other worse ones arise. Thus, we have lost the capacity for amazement and reaction to this daily increase in pain and suffering. The good news is that it will not happen forever because Dios, from his serenity, is in control of all things. It begins with a discussion of the apocalypse genre and apocalyptic literature before turning to some of the epistemological, theological, and even psychoanalytic issues at play in the debate over the propriety of the idea of apocalyptic prophecy.

We were called directly by him to proclaim the happy hope to this confused world, and we had to bring forward a great effort to put in front of the eyes and the heart of the people.

This is just an adaptation of the call of Dios for these days that is presented by Elena de White in the book Eventos de los dias días. There are many other precious quotes in this book, and so that you can get to know them better, we have prepared this special selection of prophetic words for the last few days.

The themes are not presented in chronological form, but the prophecies and the most important moments that the church will experience before the return of Jesus are highlighted. In each citation we can see a sovereign God who acts in history, and recognize our prophetic role of giving the world a last message of opportunity and hope.
