Metadata emphasizes keywords like audiobooks, library, and ebooks in competitors; this app’s metadata does not foreground those terms as strongly.
Content focus on classic/public-domain titles may feel less targeted for users seeking newer titles or diverse genres.
Perceived emphasis on free, public-domain content could limit appeal for users expecting modern or commercial audiobook licenses.

LibriVox doesn't have the latest books, but it's got all the good old classics. And It's very simple to search a book, download it and listen. Plus the books are free, for that I've been very thankful.

There are mostly older books like Dracula and Conan, the barbarian, and Frankenstein, but it's free, and I love listening to audiobooks while cooking or even showering.

I just love the old books read to me 😀. Titles I've never heard of. Listed in subject, or author, or reader, and there are so many fabulous readers. Well done ❤️

High battery drain. It was great before, but in the last few weeks, the app has increased battery drain a lot... and this shouldn't be for an audio app. I wonder if something nefarious is happening behind the scenes with this app

This SLIMY app company called "Book design" is posing as the REAL LibriVox & using volunteers work to charge for ads against LibriVox's rules and does not give anything to the actual volunteers. Pure GREED. "THE REAL LibriVox Objective: To make all books in the public domain available, narrated by real people, and distributed for FREE. The Fundamental Principles are that LibriVox is a non-commercial, non-profit, and ad-free project. LibriVox donates its recordings to the public domain."

I paid to remove ads and use this app every night, however now each chapter seems to have a time clock far beyond the actual time it takes to read the chapter?! So the chapter takes 20 minutes, but then there is another 2 hours of silence before it moves on to the next chapter. You have to select the next chapter or skip to the end of the 2 hours to proceed. This is very annoying considering I use the app for sleeping, and it just goes silent, and I wake up.IDK how to fix this or what caused it

I love LibriVox, and I definitely appreciate all the fine work from them all, and their volunteers. But the app is garbage. It constantly crashes for no reason, and when it does, it take a very long time to get back to the point where you left off. But hey, at least the search function is just a little better than the website. I know, you get what you pay for, and maybe it's wrong to criticize such a wonderful program. But maybe if I mention these problems they might get fixed someday? Maybe?
