I have had Aquas cape products for over 5 years. The pond pump controller recently burned out due to a water leak, so I replaced it with a newer generation controller. The written and online instructions were not that great. Several key steps were missing. When trying to connect the controller to Wi-Fi, there is a timeout of about 30 seconds after which you need to do a double reset of the controller. Also, there is a cable retainer with no instructions for its use.

The plus: being able to program multiple times for the lights to come on and off along with color and brightness. Color selection more sensitive than regular color hub. Able to name each control hub. Con: can not control brightness of strobe or color fade. There is only one slider and that is for time. Regular control hub allows you to change both. Cannot program the strobe and color fade for auto turn on and off. Parsing error when trying to create automation for ## minutes before sunset.

The device updated its firmware on first connect, thereafter the app won't connect to dual-band Wi-Fi in home network. Ditto for Bluetooth pairing to Pixel 6a. Returning it to Amazon. Useless!

Very difficult time trying to get my phone app for aquas cape to sync with my Wi-Fi. I have strong signal. App tells me it is connected, but it never is. simply shows that I am offline since last October when I winterized pump.

The worst IoT App That I Have - I purchased a house in 2021, I've installed many apps to support a "Smart Home" (Whirlpool, Samsung, LG, Kasa, Rachio, Chamberlain's MyQ, etc.) When we had a pond installed, I chose Aquas cape since it had "smart controls" to control the pump and the lights. However, I'm extremely disappointed with the crude UI and the awful reliability of the Aquas cape app. The automation feature works maybe 25% of the time, and integration with Alexa is equally unreliable.
