Description
Arc of Euclid is an isometric narrative-driven adventure game set in the depths of Hell, where themes of geometry and love intertwine. The story follows a Hero who embarks on a perilous journey to rescue their Lover, navigating the various circles of Hell. Along the way, they battle enemies, solve intricate puzzles, and confront moral dilemmas that challenge their understanding of love, fate, and sacrifice. The game combines exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat, offering an emotionally immersive experience that blends intellectual and emotional challenges.

Story Overview:
The Hero begins their journey in a cave atop a mountain, lost and unsure of why their Lover has ventured into Hell. As they descend, they encounter a mysterious creature, the Fiend, who offers cryptic guidance. The Fiend helps the Hero navigate the circles of Hell, but its motives remain unclear. As the Hero ventures deeper, they begin to question their connection with the Lover and the nature of their journey. Love, geometry, and fate become central themes, with each circle of Hell bringing the Hero closer to a hidden truth about their relationship.

Gameplay Mechanics:
1. Combat: Players control the Hero in both combat and puzzle-solving scenarios. Armed with a The Bow of Artemis, the Hero uses ranged attacks to defeat enemies and navigate hazardous areas. Arrows are limited in number but can be replenished by solving puzzles.

In addition to the bow, the Soul Lantern serves as a melee weapon, used to strike enemies up close. The lantern can be wielded in combat, providing an additional layer of strategy when facing powerful foes.

2. Puzzle Solving: The game features complex puzzles that are integral to progression. Each circle of Hell presents a new type of challenge, requiring the player to manipulate the environment, defeat enemies, or interact with specific objects to proceed. The Fiend plays a key role in solving certain puzzles— who interacts with the environment on the Hero’s behalf.

Throughout the game, players can discover cryptic message scrolls written by the Lover, scattered across the nine levels of Hell. These scrolls provide insights into the Lover’s journey, their thoughts, and the reasons behind their descent into Hell. While the scrolls do not provide direct clues for puzzles, they offer emotional depth and context, helping the Hero (and the player) understand the Lover’s motivations and struggles. The puzzles evolve with each new circle, requiring the player to think critically about the environment and the tools at their disposal.

3. Exploration: The world of Hell is vast and multi-layered, with each circle offering a unique environment. From the bloody Circle of Violence to the oppressive Circle of Heresy, each area presents a distinct atmosphere that is both visually stunning and foreboding. The player must navigate treacherous terrain, avoiding lava, collapsing floors, and the inhabitants of Hell.

4. Moral Choices and Emotional Depth: While combat and puzzles are central to gameplay, the emotional core lies in the Hero’s journey and the relationship with their Lover.

The concept of geometric harmony serves as an allegory for love, with the Hero’s journey representing the interconnectedness of their path with the Lover. Each circle brings the Hero closer to understanding that love, like geometry, is a series of arcs, angles, and interconnected points. As the Hero gains new insights, the path forward becomes clearer, but only through personal growth and understanding.

5. Two Endings: The game offers two endings shaped by the Hero’s decision. The final choice will determine the outcome, reflecting the complex themes of love, sacrifice, and fate. The endings explore the consequences of forgiveness, trust, and the paths that diverge based on the Hero’s emotional journey. Each ending provides a unique resolution, offering players a chance to shape the fate of the Hero and their relationship with the Lover.
