Description
Somewhere past the last honest road, a caravan of illusionists is packing up again. The lamps come down, the mirrors go into their velvet sleeves, and the horses are turned toward the next town on a map nobody else seems to own. You are the ringmaster. The season ends at the Coronation, and between here and there stand seven acts of mist-bound towns, strange patrons, and a rival called the Hollow Mirror who has been watching your troupe for longer than you knew.
Arcadia Circle is a hand-crafted roguelike about staging impossible shows. Every tour rolls a fresh constellation of towns, so no two seasons trace the same route, and a run that ends badly still teaches you something you carry into the next one.
WHAT YOU DO
Travel the Map of Wonders one stop at a time. Each node is a different night: stage a performance, meet a stranger at the edge of the firelight, browse the Glass Bazaar for relics, gamble on three doors in the Hollow, or take your players backstage to mend what the road has worn down. The path branches, so what you skip is as much a decision as what you choose.
Staging a show means composing a lineup. You have three marks to fill — Opening, Climax and Encore — and eight acts to fill them with, each carrying their own Wonder, their own Tension and their own cost in spirit. Put the right performers beside each other and synergies weave visible ribbons across the stage: Ascension between two ethereal acts, Mirrorwork between two symmetrical ones, Prophecy between the oracular. Get it right and the crowd carries your name to the next town.
Then the curtain goes up and you have to hold it. A performance runs live — Wonder bleeds away, Tension climbs, and moments arrive mid-show that ask you to tap a flourish, hold a silence, or sweep a veil. Land them and the barometer swings gold. Miss them and you will hear about it in the morning.

HOW IT PLAYS
Runs are short enough to finish in a sitting and deep enough to argue with. Spirit is the real currency — a performer who has carried three shows in a row will not carry a fourth, and when fewer than three of your troupe can take the stage the tour is over. Coin buys relics, Renown buys reputation, Mystique accumulates quietly. Everything you spend is a bet on how many towns are left.
