Ashen Path is a hard, hand-crafted dark fantasy action RPG built for one phone and two thumbs. Every enemy can kill you, but now every blow can be read: see the tell, answer it, punish. And at the top of the stair, a story told in ash is waiting.
Free to start — the first region and its keeper are free; unlock the full journey with one purchase.
COMBAT YOU CAN READ
• Three beats on every attack: the wind-up, an approach ring that shrinks onto your hero and touches exactly at the moment of impact, and an ember flash with a sound and a haptic tick when the window opens
• The ring colour tells you what to do: gold to parry, red to roll, white for either
• Perfect parry staggers a foe instantly. Perfect dodge slows time and opens a counter attack
• OPEN: after a parry or a perfect dodge the foe glows white, and your hits land harder
• Counter attacks: parry a marked lunge or thrust at the perfect moment and your hero counter-slashes on his own
• Backstabs: foes that have not noticed you watch with a cone of sight that walls and doors block. Creep up behind to one-shot regular enemies or cripple elites. Bosses are immune
• Light and heavy strikes (hold to charge), a roll that makes you untouchable for a heartbeat, block and parry. Stamina governs everything and swings cannot be cancelled
THREE DIFFICULTIES
• Story: wider windows and rings always on, a way in for newcomers
• Normal: the default, with rings and forgiving windows
• Ashen: the same fights, harder: no rings, strict windows, keepers hit harder. For those who want it hard
• Change it at any shrine. Nobody is forced into hardcore
• The first fights teach the cues, and when you die the recap names the one you missed
A STORY TOLD IN ASH
• A grieving king lit the Pale Flame so that nothing would ever be lost. Ash has fallen for a hundred years, and you wake in it with a warm ember in your hand
• Five people at the shrines: a firekeeper, a gravedigger, a sister of the bell, a cheerful pilgrim and Garrick, a ballista deserter. They move, change and can die; some fates turn on your choices
• Thirty-one fragments to find: journal pages, murals, last notes, statues, graves, plus four memory visions. Everything goes into the codex
• Story, zone and codex progress in percent, and a map of every zone in the pause menu
• A painted prologue and three endings, one of them secret
A WORLD THAT REMEMBERS
• Five zones rebuilt for the wide screen, each with its own layout, hazards and secrets: falling beams, a flooded nave, a bramble maze, burning grates, ash storms
• Each zone has its own light, weather, ambience and music: drifting ash, cold rain, glowing spores, rising embers, slow white snow of ash. The bosses have their own themes
• Shrines are checkpoints: rest to refill your flasks, and the dead walk again
• Set pieces seal the way until the last foe falls. Shortcuts open only from the far side, hollow walls hide secrets, rings and caches
• Die and your essence stays where you fell. You have one chance to reclaim it
GROWTH ON THE EDGE
• Six attributes with rising costs and soft caps: every point matters
• Eight weapons with their own move sets: daggers, greataxe, spear, warhammer, halberd and more
• Scarce ember shards to reforge the one weapon you trust
• Ten rings, two slots, each with a trade-off
TWELVE FOES, FIVE KEEPERS
• Husks, hounds, pikemen, shieldbearers, censer monks, arbalests, thornlings, brutes, witches, knights, duelists and firebrands
• A keeper guards each place. The last one has beaten every test we threw at it
• Your best attempt is always shown: see how close you came
MORE TO MASTER
• Eight trials: fixed gauntlets with hard rules
• A daily trial with a leaderboard of times
• Boss rush and new game plus with remixed enemies
• Badges for rare feats: a boss without a flask, a boss without a hit
