Description
There are lots of camera apps to warn of cameras ahead. Great for driving on roads you don't know.
TASCA is different.
TASCA is for average speed cameras on roads you drive frequently, and has many features not found on other apps.
First, record the cameras on your route: . . . 1: Select the speed limit. . . . 2: Tap "Camera" as you pass each one.
TASCA then works automatically (hands-free).
If your average speed goes above the speed limit: . . . A bar-graph shows how much above.
You can set a warning speed. If the average goes above: . . . An audio message says your speed (eg it says "average 42").
You can set an "aim" speed (the average you want to achieve). When approaching each camera:
If you are going to exceed your "aim" speed: . . . 1: An audio message* says how much to slow down by (eg it says "Minus 2"). . . . 2: A red bar-graph shows how much to slow down.
If you are not going to achieve your "aim": . . . 1: An audio message* says how much you could speed up by. . . . 2: A green bar-graph shows how much faster.
* Note: Drivers might normally have "Aim Minus" On (and "Aim Plus" Off). . . . This means TASCA remains quiet, only warning if the average speed will be too high at the next camera.
There is also a countdown (bottom left) to when you are allowed to pass the camera: . . . The background starts red, goes amber at the NIP threshold, then green at zero. __________________________________
TASCA comes with example databases for these average speed camera systems:
1: A40 (W London). 2: A406 (North Circular). 3: A316 (SW London). 4: M4 (W London, the raised section).
TASCA can also record fixed (Gatso-type) cameras. TASCA comes with an example database for fixed cameras in Slough. __________________________________
TASCA saves a journey log that includes: . . . 1: A summary of the sections between average speed cameras including distance, time and average speed. . . . 2: A list of events including the first and last GPS locations between each pair of average speed cameras. __________________________________
IF GPS IS LOST (eg when going through an underpass):
The average speed display goes red and there's an audio message. When GPS returns, TASCA estimates the distance through the underpass and continues updating the average speed display. __________________________________
ACCURACY:
A phones GPS and clock should provide more accurate speed readings than your vehicles speedometer or trip computer. __________________________________
TASCA works entirely within the phone and uses:
1. GPS receiver (to detect cameras and distance travelled). 2. Clock (to determine time taken). 3. Data storage (to record databases and journey logs).
TASCA does not do anything else. TASCA does not collect your data. TASCA does not send or receive data via the internet. TASCA therefore works with or without a SIM card. __________________________________
THE LAW:
It is illegal to have a mobile phone in your hand while driving. TASCA should therefore be legal if the phone is in a holder. Each user must ensure for themselves that they drive safely and legally at all times. __________________________________

Amazing app. Well done. I'd pay for a version where there's the option to shrink it to a small display that can be shown over Google Maps.
