Background Camera: Recorder

Background Camera is a professional background video recorder and silent camera. Record video, take photos and capture audio without any preview on screen — while you play games, watch live streams, listen to music, chat, use other apps, or even when your phone is locked. Nothing appears on the display, so nothing interrupts you.

Journalists, lawyers, students and business professionals use Background Camera to document meetings, keep evidence, record lectures and capture moments a normal camera cannot. If you have tried a background video recorder, silent camera, screen-off camera or hidden recorder app, you will find all their best features in one place.

WHY BACKGROUND CAMERA
• Background recording — start video, photo or audio capture and keep using other apps
• Screen off shooting — black screen mode simulates a locked phone while recording keeps running
• Silent capture — no shutter sound, no preview, no flash by default
• Dual camera — front and rear cameras, including concurrent picture-in-picture recording

KEY FEATURES
• Privacy first — photos and videos stay inside the app and are hidden from the gallery
• PIN lock and gesture password, plus hide the app entry
• Quick access — home screen shortcuts and notification quick settings tiles for one-tap recording
• Custom watermark — time, date, location, coordinates or your own text on photos and videos
• Icon disguise — replace the app icon with a compass, calculator or browser icon
• Global black screen — overlay a black view on any app, such as live streaming or video calls
• Lock screen capture — take photos and record video from the notification bar while the phone is locked
• Desktop widgets — add a home screen widget and customise its buttons
• Black screen controls — start and stop recording with the volume key or a Bluetooth remote
• Auto split videos — long recordings are segmented automatically for easier management
• Flexible storage — internal storage, SD card or any album you choose
• Unlimited recording length, auto capture interval and frame rates up to 60 fps

SYSTEM NOTE
When the screen stays off for a long time, the system may enter power saving mode and shut down the camera, which interrupts recording. For long recordings, use Black Screen Mode instead of pressing the power button.

SUBSCRIPTION
Most features are free. The subscription unlocks an ad-free experience, enhanced global black screen, one-tap quick shooting, concurrent background shooting, gesture password protection, deep hidden media, icon customisation and watermark customisation. You can also unlock premium features for free by watching a rewarded ad.

IMPORTANT
1. Do not open another camera app while recording.
2. Do not press the power button to lock the screen during video recording.
3. Use black screen mode to simulate the screen-off state.
4. Notification bars and navigation bars are system components, so an accessibility service is required to hide them. We do not collect sensitive user data through this service.
