I am really enjoying this. It has a Hot Shots Tennis/Golf type of appeal to it. It's very addictive and it's challenging. A few things that need to be looked at. 1. My Stat points don't stay where they are. After each game I have to go back to raise them up. I'm a level 6 player and my stats are coming close to max but they aren't yet and I still have 1 Stat point they won't let me use. 2. I think we should be allowed to pick what type of serve we want to do, whether we want to hit it short/long/hi/low etc. Something to consider. 3. Maybe do daily log in rewards 4. Doubles?

I've tried wording the emotions I feel for Badminton Stars, while explaining the thoughts I have as well. But it's difficult, because these two go together like two things which don't go together at all. So I'll opt for separating them into two separate sections, and comparing them in the last paragraph. First, an objective view of the game. Badminton Stars features a campaign mode and an online mode (which requires Facebook). The campaign mode has a straight level progression; more level progression means harder matches. The rounds within a level get harder as well, the shuttlecock seems to get faster as a round gets longer. In a level are two temporal boosts which are given a free trial before having to use coins for more boosts. The 'Perfect Hit' boost, and the 'Max Skills' boost, both of which need no explanation. There's one boost as part of the game; activated after a number of hits. Once activated, you must beat the opponent in a mini-game of precision (If won, wins the round. If loss, nothing happens). Note: the opponent also has these boosts, but are not limited to preserving it (after the tutorial). Besides these two modes, there's also the character customization and the crib. Character customization allows you to change the character's appearance, dialogue, and skill points (achieved using coins). In the crib, you can use coins to decorate a house, and get different looks for the character customization. Second, a personal view of the game. Badminton Stars features a campaign mode and an online mode not worth the trouble to make a Facebook account. The campaign mode is boring; the harder matches don't add challenge. And the faster rounds speeds up the repetitive level, giving nothing of interests. In a level are two temporal boosts and one boost as part of the game which for what it's worth, is original and creative. However, opponents having unlimited boosts is unfair, and the mini-game of precision feels like it's up to chance most of the time. So both boosts are negated to be useless and unreliable in the long-run. Besides these two modes, there's also the character customization and the crib. Character customization brings no charm; except for the interesting skill point system, the designs (and music) are too simple and looks (and sounds) hideous. I didn't give attention to the crib as it had nothing to do with the campaign mode of Badminton Stars, but it's nothing negative. It's interesting to note coins hold two purposes, and how you spend it depends on what you care more, the matches or the crib. Third, the comparison. I abhor Badminton Stars; it has unneeded components, it has unrefined boosts, and it has one of the worst design and music I have witnessed in a game. However, I can't ignore the game's existing qualities; the boosts, the crib, and the skill points. Although a complete mess, these traits Badminton Stars holds aren't bad in practice, but how it's applied is a nightmare. So for these reasons, Badminton Stars deserves two stars.
