Description
Barbecue Cooking Helper is a companion for low-and-slow smoking and grilling sessions. Instead of guessing when your brisket, pulled pork, ribs, or chicken will be done, you log readings from your smoker and meat probes and let the app track the cook for you. Start a session by picking a meat preset (Brisket, Pulled Pork, Ribs, Chicken, or Custom). Each preset fills in a default target meat temperature, target smoker temperature, and typical ramp rate, all adjustable before you begin. You can also enter your current smoker and meat readings so the cook starts with accurate numbers. While a cook is active, Barbecue Cooking Helper shows a live dashboard: a temperature gauge, separate smoker and meat probe readouts against their targets, elapsed time, the calculated ramp rate in degrees per hour, and an estimated time remaining. The estimate is based on your logged temperature trend once enough readings exist, falling back to the preset ramp rate early on. A trend chart plots smoker and meat temperature over time, and any logged entry can be tapped to edit its readings or notes. The app can send optional notifications: a periodic reminder to log a new reading at an interval you choose, an alert when your target meat temperature is reached, a warning when the meat temperature plateaus during the classic barbecue "stall," and an alert if the smoker temperature drifts above or below your target range. Once a cook is finished, it moves to your cook history, where you can reopen a session to see its full temperature log table and trend chart, export the log as a CSV file, or delete it. Settings let you switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius, choose a default meat preset, enable dark mode, adjust reminder intervals, and replay the onboarding walkthrough or personalization quiz. All session and temperature data is stored locally on your device. Barbecue Cooking Helper is meant for a clear, organized record of each cook from start to finish.
