It's a cool app that lets you chat with anyone without relying on any servers or intermediaries. And the best part is, it's totally free to use! You just need to install it on your device, and you're good to go. Berty Messenger is a peer to peer platform that respects your privacy and security. Check it out!

A private first, local first app build on the best mesh network technology around. Awesome!

Comparing similar apps: Briar is much less buggy but more confusing & kind of ugly. Berty is less buggy & more intuitive than Jami. Berty & Catch are the most beautiful. Catch is less buggy than Berty but has fewer features & only works on android (bcuz it uses Tor). Out of all them, Berty's UI felt the most intuitive and user-friendly. If it was less buggy, I'd consider trying to convince my friends to stop using Signal so much and start using Berty more lol. Very hopeful about this app!

Seems to work off grid. I'll test some more.

Briar works and this doesn't, this paired easier, but that's just learning that you need some distance on the Briar app to get the full QR code in view. This is still trying to send messages I sent a week ago, and we have had Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Internet in that time and still nothing.

In theory (and writing), it all sounds great. It'd be awesome if all messaging app developers had the same mentality and actually strived to applying said theory and make it happen. The only relevant issue I have here, is that the app seems to take up alot of storage space. Almost 300MBs just sitting idle. So, for now, I'll pass. Thank you, though and good luck.

You have only one task: develop a reliable Bluetooth connection between devices. But your whole team develops this app (not even natively), like it's their third degree hobby project!!!! It's been about two years I'm waiting for a reliable app, but it's actually a non-native, huge-space-consumer bugbear with some working code inside. The whole idea is amazing BTW, but I'm really mad by the progress :|

I try to install the app, but it stops on setup local ipfs for a long time and nothing happens.
