This is a MUST-HAVE if you're planning on doing any driving or exploring on the Big Island! We used the guided tours all the way up to Pololu and back around the south point and back up to Waipio. We also used the guided tour in HVNP and it was so helpful! The guide highlights points of interest, restaurants, towns, and anything else along the way. There's also so much history about Hawaii in his narration and that was such a nice bonus. Spend the $30 and get all the tours - worth every penny!

We love all the Shaka app guides. We've used it for Maui, Kauai, and now the Big Island. When it comes to the end of our vacation and our last tour with "Shaka guy", we are a bit sad because he becomes like part of the family π. Excellent guide with choose-your-own-destiny kind of options. Normally I would give five stars. Removing one star only because the directions timing was a tad bit off. Many times we were told to turn when we were right at the turn or just past it. Could be my phone.

Horrible App! Spent half a day installing and trying to get it to work. The system was locked in a loop of "resume tour" and "audio check." When you tried to listen to individual locations, the narrator fades out after a minute. The last location tried the app was trying to send us to the coast of Africa. Bought the 5 tour package for the Big Island. Waste of time and energy. Called customer service, and they told me to send an email for a refund.

It took forever to load. It misdirected where to start and the direction to go causing us to drive in a circle. Then it was off on the site locations. While the information was interesting, it was not calibrated correctly. It was a waste of money.
