This app is fantastic. I’m a beginner learning Welsh and this feels exactly like what I’ve been missing. The explanations of mutations, yes/no responses, and natural conversational phrasing are so useful. I love the exercises that put the language into formal and informal situations. It really beats endlessly translating sentences and vocab back and forth. It’s much more challenging, but it’s been incredibly helpful to actually learn to use Welsh. I’m very grateful 🙏🏼 Diolch yn fawr iawn!

This is such an exciting project! The Scottish Gaelic section is very good and gives me confidence that the Irish and Welsh courses are just as trustworthy. The addition of specific dialect courses is inspired and a massive advantage over Duolingo. My one critique is that writing answers have to be exact, meaning typos and punctuation mistakes mean you don't get the answer "right" even if you did actually get it correct despite that.

AI was involved in the coding and maybe construction of the language course and probably also the voice. It will get you further than Duolingo. But the audio is worse than Rosetta Stone. You'd have to pair this with textbooks, ros na run, and bandanna or gaeilge gan stró to get close to fluency like I have. Also learn real gaeilge on YouTube might help for pronunciation. If the makers of the app found strong audio from native speakers that would be great. Replace the AI voice with a real one

**UPDATE: developer's update fixed the mic issue as they promised! ❤️** Mic Glitch, Can't Get Past Voice Lessons - It was super informative in the beginner lesson up until it got to the "conversation"/speak into a mic section of the lesson. Despite allowing mic permissions and reinstalling the app twice, the app continues to say "we can't hear you" but weirdly even shows frequency bars on the recording like it did hear me, so I don't get it. Uninstalled because it got super frustrating

Much more specific app for Irish, better than Duo Lingo. Is a little bit more brutal and moves much more quickly, but also teaches far more instantly useful phrases and words. Unlike Duo Lingo, actually explains the grammar and rules, so you learn how to speak the language, not just regurgitate sentences

After two sentences in a row in Scottish Gaelic which were wrong I deleted the app. It might be good for other languages, but the Gaelic is inaccurate.

Absolute mess, actively wrong. AI and language translator scrape to make the content, makes no sense half the time. It shows content that it hasn't prepped you for, makes translation mistakes and has nonsense phrases as content ("his wind" it asked me to translate for example) and the AI voice trainer, ehhhhh, not great, cheap and lazy

Must be AI scraping a dictionary as it doesn't reflect usage. Ill is usually sâl, but this is marked wrong in favor of claf (which is a synonym). Cau usually means close not heal (although heal is one meaning). Obviously scraped from GPC but without the correct context.
