Comments on BlueDriver OBD2 Scan Tool for Android

★★★★★ Kevin Psarianos · Jul 1, 2026

Seeing all the reviews that didn't match my experience, I thought I'd add my 2 cents that I was pleased with the app. I used the app and Blue driver tool ("Next Gen") only once to read some pending/historic codes, but I have a fair bit of experience with other apps/tools. The tool worked well, and the app had no trouble connecting to it. Initial setup of the app encouraged me to set up an account, but it wans't required (I used it without an account).

Worked exactly as promised. I had an issue, with a 2015 Kia Sedna minivan, and the check engine light coming on: Cylinder Misfire. Spent a couple of grand at the auto mechanic, but they could not determine root cause. My issue is intermittent; the car would run smoothly for dozens miles, and then the issue would pop up. This OBDC dongle and associated app, allowed me to reset the check engine, which remarkably also stopped the rough idling due to the cylinder misfire. Thank you Blue Driver!

Complete diagnostics. Reads and clears check engine, abs, airbag and other trouble codes, It is very useful for professional mechanics and diy!!!

★★★★★ Douglas McLean · Jun 18, 2026

Very easy to use and gives an excellent amount of information. I periodically run a scan just for peace of mind to know that the car is operating perfectly.

I've used this app and device for close to 5 years now without issue until recently. Ever since the updates that ask for login and no longer auto connects to my device (you now have to select connect then select the device), the app has been very unstable. Live data will freeze up after a few minutes, and you can't reconnect without power cycling the blue driver. Very annoying if you're trying to monitor an issue while driving.

★★☆☆☆ Phillip Platt · Sep 4, 2026

The scanner used to run flawlessly and was my go to for whatever I had a code or an issue with my vehicle but for any random issue I could pull it out connect us fine and find out exactly what the issue was. I recently started to use it again, and it made me do an update and ever since then it disconnects while I'm in the middle of using it it takes forever for the app to connect to the Blue Driver Pro it keeps freezing while I'm trying to watch the live stream.
