Description by boardlygames Written by the developer, not by AppBrain. Click to read.
Pull up a chair. Boardly sets out classic board games on a table by the fireplace: warm walnut, a maple board, brass and ember glow, soft music and a crackling fire. It is made for game night, a long journey or a quiet five minutes.
STRATEGY GAMES AND DICE GAMES
Think ahead in the strategy board games: Chess, Checkers, Reversi and Four in a Row. Try your luck in the dice games: Ludo and Snakes & Ladders. Backgammon mixes both, the luck of the dice and a good plan.
CHESS
Play chess offline against a computer that plays Easy or Hard, or face a friend on the same phone. Castle, take en passant, promote your pawns and checkmate the other king. Ivory and ebony pieces on a walnut and maple board, White against Black.
LUDO
Two to four players with four pawns each, every seat a person or the computer. Roll a 6 to leave your yard, race around the board, capture rivals and bring all four pawns home. The computer plays Easy or Hard, and Ludo can roll for you while all your pawns are still in the yard.
CHECKERS
Classic English checkers, also called draughts, on an 8 by 8 board. Jump to capture, crown a king on the far row, and choose whether captures are compulsory. Black against Red, against the computer or a friend.
BACKGAMMON
Race your checkers home, hit lone rivals and block the way. Roll the dice, undo before you commit, and win a gammon for 2 points or a backgammon for 3. Red against Black, against the computer on Easy or Hard, or two players on one device.
SNAKES & LADDERS
Snakes and ladders for two to four players, each a person or the computer. Roll the die, climb the ladders, slide down the snakes and be first to reach 100.
REVERSI
Trap a line of your rival's discs between two of yours and flip them. A walnut board, Black against Red, and a computer that plays Easy or Hard.
TIC-TAC-TOE
The quick one, also known as noughts and crosses or X and O. Play the computer or pass the phone to a friend.
FOUR IN A ROW
Drop your discs and line up four in a row, across, down or diagonally. A walnut-and-brass board on its stand, Red against Black, and a computer that plays Easy or Hard.
PLAY OFFLINE, ANYWHERE
• Every game works without wifi or mobile data: offline board games for a flight, a train or anywhere with no internet. No account and no sign-in.
• Local multiplayer on one phone: 2 player games in pass and play with a friend, or up to four players in Ludo and Snakes & Ladders.
• Single player against the computer in every game, on Easy or Hard where the game has levels.
• Your game in progress is saved, so you can pick it up later.
YOUR TABLE, YOUR RULES
• House rules for Ludo, Snakes & Ladders and Checkers: leave the yard on a 6 or on a 1 or 6, roll again on a 6, an exact roll to finish, and more.
• How to play, inside every game, for anyone new to it.
• Play in portrait or landscape.
A COSY GAME NIGHT
• Music and a crackling fireplace, with a sound mixer in Settings.
• Wooden sounds for every move, and dice that shake and land with a clack.
• Easy to see and tap: large touch targets, readable text, large text sizes and screen-reader support.
• In English, Hindi, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Indonesian and Turkish.
Recent changes:
New in 1.2.0:
• More house rules for Snakes & Ladders and Ludo.
• A fresh new look for Ludo, Chess, Checkers and Backgammon.
• Smoother play, better sound and many small fixes.
