Description by Defense Health Agency(from Google Play)
Breathe2Relax is a portable stress management tool which provides detailed information on the effects of stress on the body and instructions and practice exercises to help users learn the stress management skill called diaphragmatic breathing.Breathing exercises have been documented to decrease the body’s ‘fight-or-flight’ (stress) response, and help with mood stabilization, anger control, and anxiety management. Breathe2Relax can be used as a stand-alone stress reduction tool, or can be used in tandem with clinical care directed by a healthcare worker.

Good app. I just don't understand why they don't allow us to exceed 9 seconds in exhalation. Also, 16 cycles is really 15 cycles. Also, can't we have more cycles than 16? I don't want to keep selecting "repeat". Otherwise, very easy to use, and I like that there's a voice saying when to exhale and inhale. Saves me from having to monitor that myself when trying to relax.

This was recommended to me by my PTSD doctor at the VA hospital it is a very good app to come oneself down very easy to use the settings are simple, and it really works !

Very simple and very useful. You can adjust the length of inhale and exhale, choose background music and pictures. I have been dealing with stress better and sleeping better since I started to use it every evening.
★★★★★Lisabeth Wotherspoon· May 26, 2024
Easy to use and visually relaxing. It is the first breathing app I recommend to my clients.

I tried showing this to some people I think it would help but the set-up was so embarrassing (needing a pin and security questions dor example) I will no longer recommend.
★★☆☆☆Amy Brodsky· Jun 12, 2025
This app was so much cleaner and simpler before. Much easier for my therapy patients to use. I wish it would go back to the tactical breather app that I have been recommending for years.

So much worse than the old version. Why add passwords to an app people use during panic attacks?
★☆☆☆☆Ester Litvak· Sep 13, 2026
Why doesn't it allow an exhalation for more than 9 seconds? Also, the app is a bit glitchy, you have to select a different background regularly otherwise it'll eventually show as white
★☆☆☆☆Kyle Oyama· Jan 13, 2021
Pass, liked the old app better. Why do I need to set up a password for a breathing app?
