Build Studio

Build Studio is an offline-first Braille literacy coach for sighted teachers, family members, paraprofessionals, and adult learners who need real Grade 1 and Grade 2 skill—not a static cheat sheet. Build durable literacy by writing and reading Braille the way it is used: touch-accurate six-dot composition and timed decode practice, backed by a full seeded curriculum and spaced Know/Again reviews that live entirely on your device. SIX-DOT KEYPAD, FULL SCREEN Practice on a Perkins-style six-dot pad with press/release animation, optional haptic ticks, and instant cell preview—including capital and number markers. Every session trains the same finger patterns you will use at a real embosser or slate. GUIDED WRITE MODE See a ghost target cell, enter dots in any order, then accept or retry with per-dot error highlights and a stroke-count-style accuracy meter. Learn correct cells without relying on passive charts. DECODE FLASH MODE Embossed-style cell and short-word cards flash with a countdown reveal. Answer by multiple choice or free keypad entry so reading skill stays as strong as writing skill. SEEDED GRADE 1 & GRADE 2 CURRICULUM Full alphabet, digits, punctuation, 80+ high-frequency Grade 2 contractions, and 40 short practice passages—ready to drill with no downloads or accounts. KNOW/AGAIN SPACED REVIEWS After each cell or passage, mark Know or Again. A local SM-2-like queue brings due items first, then new material in lesson order, so memory sticks instead of fading after one glance. CONTRACTION EXPLORER & PHRASE COMPOSER Search contraction cards with print-side gloss and dot diagrams, then one-tap “drill this” into the keypad. Compose short English prompts in Braille cells, auto-check against seeded solutions, undo, or clear the line. MASTERY RINGS & DRILL RESULTS Home-screen fill rings track Alphabet, Numbers, Punctuation, Contractions, and Passages with progress that persists locally across reinstalls on the same device. After every session, see accuracy, slowest cells, missed contractions, and a suggested next lesson. BUILT FOR REAL OFFLINE USE Haptics, high-contrast emboss theme, and a daily drill reminder hour are stored on device. No network features are required or claimed—open the app and practice anywhere. Whether you support a student, prepare as a paraprofessional, or learn Braille as an adult, DotCell Braille Studio turns six-dot drills into lasting literacy.
