Our story began in 1869, when Cotha Krishniah Chetty recognised the opportunities that lay ahead and established a small enterprise in Bengaluru. With remarkable foresight, he founded a fine jewellery business in the heart of the then British Cantonment. From its inception, the House aspired not only to serve discerning patrons but also to uphold the exacting standards of the world's finest jewellers. By competing with, collaborating alongside, and learning from the renowned jewellers of London, C. Krishniah Chetty laid the foundation for a legacy defined by uncompromising quality and exceptional craftsmanship. Building upon his father's vision, Cotha Audinarayana Chetty expanded the House's global presence by forging distinguished partnerships with Mappin & Webb of London and becoming an importer for The Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company of London. He also established an association with Rolex of Switzerland, which custom-crafted diamond-set gold wristwatches featuring dials specially imprinted with the name of the C. Krishniah Chetty Group. A selection of these original timepieces remains preserved in the company's collection, serving as a lasting testament to its remarkable heritage. The House soon became renowned for undertaking extraordinary commissions that reflected the highest levels of artistry and craftsmanship. These included precious metal and gem-encrusted ceremonial swords, infantry headgear, breastplates, life-size caskets depicting the geography and customs of royal patrons, life-size perambulators, royal thrones, gallantry awards, commemorative honours, intricately crafted precious metal doors, and numerous bespoke creations that celebrated the grandeur of India's royal legacy. The clientele of C. Krishniah Chetty extended across more than twenty princely kingdoms. Alongside its appointment as jeweller to His Highness, The Maharaja of Mysore, the House was privileged to serve many of India's most distinguished royal families, including The Maharaja of Travancore, The Maharaja of Sandur, The Nawab of Savanur, The Nizam of Hyderabad, The Maharaja of Dhrangadhra, The Maharaja of Gondal, The Maharaja of Dharampur, and several other esteemed Royal Houses. These enduring relationships stand as a reflection of the trust, excellence, and craftsmanship that have defined the brand for generations. Today, C. Krishniah Chetty has evolved into a trusted household name, admired across generations for its uncompromising quality, exceptional craftsmanship, and distinguished jewellery collections.
