Car Engine Simulator 3D

What actually happens inside an engine?

Engine Simulator shows the pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft and valves of a real engine moving in 3D. Press the throttle and the revs climb, the sound changes and the gearbox shifts.

■ Five engines
• Inline-4 2.0 L — the everyday car engine
• Inline-6 3.0 L — silky smooth, hardly any vibration
• V8 5.0 L — lots of torque and a deep voice
• V10 5.2 L — sharp all the way to high revs
• V12 6.5 L — the strongest and smoothest

■ Three gearboxes
• 6-speed manual — shift yourself; let the revs fall too low and it stalls
• 7-speed dual-clutch — quick automatic shifts and launch control
• 8-speed automatic — smooth pull-away through a torque converter

■ See inside
• Clear view: moving parts through the block
• Exploded view: head and block pulled apart
• Cylinder inspector: intake, compression, power and exhaust strokes, cylinder by cylinder
• 3D speed 1/2 to 1/8: slow down a crank spinning at thousands of rpm
• Rotate and zoom with your fingers

■ Feels real
• Engine sound built from each engine's firing order
• Haptics on start-up, limiter cuts and shifts
• Accelerator that responds like a real pedal (change it in Settings)
• Engine braking, creep and kickdown

■ Also
• Portrait and landscape
• 22 languages (change in Settings)
• No data collection, works offline

For car lovers, students learning how engines work, and anyone who just likes the sound of one.
