Description
Carbetic estimates net carbs from your meals using a 3D scan. Take three photos of your plate, and the AI figures out what's on it, how much there is, and how many carbs you're looking at. Built by type 1 diabetics, for anyone who counts carbs every day.
This app is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Carb estimates are for informational purposes only and are not precise measurements. Always consult your healthcare professional before making dietary or medical decisions.
How the 3D Meal Scan works Most food scanning apps ask for one photo. Carbetic asks for three: top, side, and wide. Why? A single photo can't tell how tall a portion is or what's hiding behind something else. Three angles give the AI the depth it needs for better volume estimates, more accurate weights, and a more reliable carb count. Works especially well for mixed meals, bowls, and plates with a lot going on.
More ways to count carbs - 3D Meal Scan: 3 photos for the most accurate estimate - Recipe Photo: snap a cookbook page or handwritten recipe - Recipe Link: paste a URL from any recipe site - Quick Lookup: type or say what you're eating
Who it's for - People with type 1 or type 2 diabetes who count carbs before every meal - Parents counting carbs for a diabetic child - Anyone on a low carb diet who wants quick, reliable estimates - People tired of scrolling through food databases for every ingredient
What you get - Net carb estimate with a confidence indicator - Absorption time estimate for meal planning - Ingredient breakdown with individual weights and carb percentages - One-tap copy to paste into other apps or messages - Portion calculator for splitting or adjusting servings

I've canceled my subscription after the free trial because Google Play store was about to charge me monthly with something like €100 for a yearly unlimited subscription (it didn't state clearly the amount was a single payment for a whole year, as I've selected in the app). The app is ok, but I don't use it frequently, and I couldn't use it when I really needed it, and I had the free access, because its internet connection was blocked by a firewall (was using Blockade) and I hadn't realized.

Couldn't get the free month the creator shamelessly self promoted in an FB group without signing up for reoccurring payments.

This is a good start, but the ability to make corrections or add text prompts to the food identification is essential. Also, where is the unsubscribe flow in app? Terrible ux not to have this
