CardTap – NFC Card Reader

Tap, scan and understand your NFC cards with CardTap.

CardTap is an easy-to-use NFC card reader that lets you scan compatible contactless cards and view useful information stored on the card. Instead of showing only technical NFC data, CardTap presents supported card information in a clear and easy-to-read format.

SCAN NFC CARDS

Simply hold a compatible NFC card near your phone to scan it. CardTap automatically detects supported card types and displays available information.

Depending on the card and the information it makes accessible, CardTap may display:

• Card type and card number
• Stored-value balance
• Issue and expiry dates
• Recent transaction records
• Other available card information

SUPPORTED CARDS

CardTap is designed to support multiple types of contactless cards, including selected transit, stored-value and other NFC cards.

Support varies by card technology. Some cards protect their balance, transaction history or other information and cannot be fully read by third-party applications.

Unsupported cards can still be identified where compatible, with available NFC information accessible through CardTap's technical tools.

SAVE YOUR CARDS

Save scanned cards and give them your own names for easy identification. Previously scanned card information can be viewed again without having to search through your scan history.

Balance and transaction information shown for saved cards reflects the information from the most recent scan.

CARD EXPIRY ALERTS

Keep track of cards that are approaching their expiry date. CardTap can remind you when a supported saved card is nearing expiry, helping you avoid forgetting about cards that need renewal or replacement.

SCAN HISTORY

Review your previous NFC scans and quickly access cards you have scanned before.

NFC TOOLS

For users who want more technical information, CardTap also provides NFC diagnostic tools where available, including card technology, identifiers and other NFC metadata.

PRIVACY

CardTap reads compatible NFC cards only when you initiate a scan. Card information displayed by the app depends on what is made accessible by the card.

IMPORTANT

CardTap is an independent NFC card-reading utility. It is not a payment application and cannot be used to make contactless payments, add value to cards or modify card balances.

CardTap is not affiliated with or endorsed by card issuers, transit operators, payment networks or stored-value card providers.

NFC functionality, available card information and compatibility depend on your device, operating system and the security features of each card.
