Carrot — a quiet editor with a deep mind.

Carrot is a lightweight, predictive code and Markdown editor that works the same on your phone, tablet, and computer. It's fast, local-first, and runs fully offline — no account required.

Predictive editing
As you type, Carrot suggests the next few characters as inline "ghost text." You choose what powers it:
• On-device heuristics — instant, private, zero network.
• Ollama — your own local model.
• Bring your own key (OpenAI or Anthropic) — stored write-only and encrypted; only the code around your cursor is ever sent.

A real editor
• Syntax highlighting and automatic language detection for JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Rust, Go, Java, C/C++, PHP, SQL, HTML, CSS, JSON, YAML, XML and Markdown.
• Live Markdown preview, a command palette, find & replace, version history, and a minimap.
• Tuned for touch: a smart key bar, bottom-tab navigation, and a layout that adapts from phone to desktop.

Share & collaborate
Share any document with a link and edit it together in real time. You control access: anyone with the link, passcode-protected, or signed-in only — and view-only or full-edit. People can open a shared doc with no account at all.

Sync, your way
• Local-first: your work stays on your device until you choose to sync.
• Sign in (optional, via GitHub, Google, or email) to sync a private workspace across devices.
• Connect a GitHub repo to back up and sync your files.

Private by design
No ads. No analytics. No trackers. Carrot never sells your data and never trains on your code. You can delete your account and all your data yourself, anytime, in Settings.

One app across Android, web, macOS, iPhone and iPad — sign in once and pick up where you left off, or never sign in at all.
