Gotta give it up to INAMI. This game is fighting with Rondo of Blood for best Castlemaine all-time. That is a FANTASTIC start! Now if we can just get INAMI to release the other Metroidvania games in here (really, just any and all 2-d versions) I would purchase every last one of them!.. And I don't think I'd be the only one who would! Let's make that happen, INAMI! Did you guys stop liking money or something? C'mon!😂

SOTN is one of the greatest games of all time. Mobile port has some issues, but nothing using a controller can't fix, mostly. I wish we had a toggle to use the original PS1 voices and all that, because its part of this games charm. What does this version do different from others? The on-screen controls allow you to cast a spell instead of having to input the command for it every time. Spam Soul Steal and Tetra Spirit! Also, you can continue directly from the last screen you enter from the menu.

Adore this game. Finished it many MANY times on console. Would love to give it five stars BUT! With on-screen controls it's impossible to activate mist form after double jump to get soul of the bat. Play through stuck in the middle, unable to progress.

Games basically unplayable because of the controls. You will spend 95% of your time trying to jump. A section that takes two seconds to clear with a controller has you trying over and over for 10 mins. The controls are unresponsive, and you have to press them exactly in the center, or it doesn't register. You have to hold down the jump button (exactly right) for 3 seconds to do a high jump. Only pressing it quickly does a tiny jump a centimeter off the ground. Don't even bother

Save your money. $4 is too high. The controls are horrendous. Buy it for console or find a rom and use a controller, touchscreen is the absolute worst. Edit: even worse than I thought. No button mapping and the buttons are super tiny. This is the worst port I have ever attempted to play and demand a refund.
