Cell Spy Catcher helps users detect IMSI catchers such as Stingrays by learning nearby networks and leveraging OpenCellId data. It runs in the background for continuous protection and exports logs as CSV. With 500,000+ total downloads and 110 in the last 30 days, it remains a steady choice in TOOLS.
OpenCellId integration expands coverage with external data.
Always-on background protection with auto-restart ensures continuous monitoring.
No root or specialized hardware required; supports tablets with SIM cards.
Lacks broader privacy/security features advertised by some competitors (e.g., dedicated anti-spyware tools).
Relies on location permissions and external OpenCellId data, which may raise privacy considerations.
Learning/adaptation period may take several days to populate network data.

Using the app can be a little complex, and you have to use the wiretap and soy removal app in conjunction. I've found that imsi catcher (stingray device) will overload the system, and you note the time and date. Then check the complete list of detection and almost always a stingray device will be detected within a minute of the system overload. Why do they overload the system? Does it help them soy on you?

Great app and makes me think are they doing mobile to mobile and other things It can be non-stop cell tower or other things I refuse to give in and put up with the warnings, so I could blacklist them and it worth it even makes internet way more stable faster while out because fake beacon or towers now don't get connected too so got that it's great wish could have option to add or remove towers so could add but then know don't want so than want to blacklist don't know how to add ot delete liat

Any app that promotes an ability for civilians to protect themselves from rogue law enforcement, and defend their privacy from all law enforcement will receive 5 stars from me every time. The app does exactly what it says it will do. Thank you!

Please show and log eNb instead which is widely used from other apps. Expect to remove wrongly learned UNKNOWN towers from detected network list to make the app worked properly and meaningfully. When mobile data is disabled, lots of UNKNOWN NETWORK are recorded erroneously which is the said the INTERNAL ERROR. Need to remove wrongly added Whitelist individually. Both Visual warning and Network text on notification are malfunctioned. Keep it up!

Doesn't actually catch or stop cell spying. It also frequently stops out of the blue. And when trying to access the log of all detected cell towers and their IDs it freezes up and then doesn't work. I have redownloaded it and restarted the learning process. Still nothing.

Appears to be abandoned, last update over 2 years ago. Also just recently my cell signal appears to be killed whenever it makes a detection. I have to reboot to get any bars. TBH, I'm not sure if this ever actually worked. I have no idea if towers are being updated when they are found. Sure it alerts you, when a lac changes but with carriers eliminating 3g and updating to 5g, is it the same tower updated or is it a stingray?
