Chainfire: Tower Defense

Remember the tank that broke through your defenses? Come back with a bigger answer. Chainfire is an action tower defense game where an enemy army gets to meet the fortress you've been upgrading. Tanks push toward the wall, aircraft close in overhead, and your guns pick their targets. A rocket barrage leaves burning wreckage where an enemy column stood a moment ago.

Your part in this base defense battle takes you out between the enemy machines. Collect rockets and bring them back to the fortress, then watch your cargo turn into a barrage. A full load is tempting when enemies are closing in. So is getting back in time to smash the next wave before it reaches the wall. The guns fire on their own; the next delivery is yours.

Weapon upgrades earn their keep when a familiar tank meets the new launcher. Upgrade your turrets for more firepower, reinforce the armor that took a beating, or give your collector room for a larger load. Spend your battle earnings on the firepower and protection you needed last time. Then put the new equipment to work against the enemy that made you want it.

Keep upgrading and the fortress itself starts to change. Heavier weapons replace the old guns, the armor takes on a new shape, and additional rocket towers take their places at the sides of the wall. Then watch those guns tear through the next wave.

Wave defense gets messy when tanks and aircraft attack together. Ground vehicles crowd the way home while planes pass overhead. Enemy waves keep coming while you hunt for rockets, and gunners prepare their own shots at the fortress. Bring back a load in time and watch the next wave break apart under rocket fire.

Put your tower defense strategy to work across 150 levels in five worlds. The sunlit port gives way to new battlefields, from a copper quarry to an icy relay station and a basalt command hub. Siege guns threaten the wall from a distance, while jammers disrupt rocket collection.

Then the boss shows up. Five boss battles give your upgraded weapons something big to work on. Each world has its own boss with attacks aimed at tearing your fortress apart. Keep the rockets coming while your guns wear it down. Then watch the wreckage fall.

Return to earlier levels to earn more coins and see how far your fortress has come. Push for three stars by bringing it through the fight in better shape. A level that once stopped your campaign becomes a place to try your new weapons before taking on the next challenge.

If your fortress falls, your permanent upgrades stay with you. That level isn't going anywhere. Come back with stronger weapons. Next time, leave them in pieces.
