🔷 CheckThere Overview
CheckThere is a cross-platform, role-based check-in app with smart device recognition for Primary Users.

To maintain accurate and unique check-in records, the system automatically recognizes the current active check-in device and switches to the latest device when the Primary User signs in on a new device or web browser.

It enables voluntary status and location sharing from a Primary User to Observers. One checks in, many watch over—missed check-ins trigger alert emails.

It is not intended for emergency or urgent situations.

Observers are added or removed by the Primary User via email invitations. They can accept or decline, and may revoke access at any time.

For security and delivery reliability, all emails are sent through a queued delivery system and may take approximately 1 minute to arrive.

CheckThere is not a social network. Observers have no visibility of other Observers and cannot interact with each other.

👤 How It Works
Primary Users control check-ins and manage observers.

Observers are explicitly invited and can view the Primary User’s status and location only if access is granted.

🔐 Account System
CheckThere uses a role-based account system with different authentication flows for Primary Users and Observers.

👤 Primary User
Primary Users sign in using:
CT-ID (CheckThere ID, a unique 10-digit system-generated identifier assigned to each Primary User account) or verified email, together with a password.

Each Primary User account manages its own check-ins and observers.


👀 Observers

Observer access is granted only through an invitation from a Primary User and must be accepted before activation. Observers sign in using the associated Primary User email address together with their own email address and password.

👀 Observer Permissions
Observers can view:
• Check-in countdown status
• Check-in location
• Current check-in phase (normal / grace / overdue)
• Alert status (if triggered)
• Check-in cycle context (view-only)

Observers can also leave at any time.

For Primary User premium accounts, Observers may also view the last 10 check-in records.

🔔 Alerts & Notifications
If a check-in is missed beyond the grace period, alerts are sent to contacts selected by the Primary User.

Observers only receive alerts if explicitly configured.

No alerts are sent without user setup.

A built-in notification test helps users verify that local notification permissions are working correctly after installation.

⏱️ Grace Period & Check-in Flow
During the grace period, the system sends multiple local notifications to the Primary User.

Tapping a notification performs a one-tap check-in confirmation immediately. The app also opens to display the current state.

🔁 Synchronization
Check-in data is synchronized across devices.

Data refreshes automatically when the app is opened and can also be refreshed manually.
