CHES Exam Study Guide

Pass the CHES by knowing what NCHEC actually tests — how a needs assessment is built and which sampling method fits, what makes an objective SMART and which theory construct a scenario is describing, how process, impact and outcome evaluation differ, where advocacy ends and lobbying begins, and what the Code of Ethics demands when interests collide.

CHES Exam Study Guide is a focused, fully offline companion for the Certified Health Education Specialist examination, organized on the nine Areas of Responsibility from the HESPA III framework — the model behind the CHES exam beginning in 2027 — weighted the way the exam weights them.

SIX WAYS TO STUDY
• Flashcards — tap to reveal, tagged by Area of Responsibility
• Multiple-choice questions set in real practice scenarios, each with a worked explanation
• True/false drills built from the misconceptions that cost marks
• Term-matching game — pair key terms in rounds of five
• Searchable glossary of the assessment, theory, evaluation and policy vocabulary the exam assumes you know
• Models & Metrics reference — the Health Belief Model, Transtheoretical Model, Social Cognitive Theory, PRECEDE-PROCEED, logic models, RE-AIM, the epidemiologic rates and the statistical test chooser

ALL NINE AREAS, EXAM-WEIGHTED
• Assessment (15%)
• Planning (15%)
• Implementation (12%)
• Evaluation (15%)
• Research (3%)
• Advocacy (12%)
• Communication (13%)
• Administration and Management (5%)
• Ethics, Leadership, and Professionalism (10%)

BUILT LIKE THE EXAM
The CHES examination is a three-hour, 165-question multiple-choice exam — 15 of them unscored pilot items — offered in spring and fall testing windows. From 2027 it is built on the HESPA III nine-area specifications used throughout this app.

STUDY ANYWHERE
Everything works offline. No account, no sign-up, no ads, no data collection.

Start free with a preview of every mode. Unlock the full library with a weekly, monthly or annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase — all four unlock identical content; duration is the only difference.

This app is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.
