ClayTrace: Pottery Journal

Remember why a piece worked, and make the next one even better.

ClayTrace is a pottery journal that keeps the whole story of every piece in one place: the clay body, each glaze layer, every firing, the photos and what you learned. When a glaze finally comes out of the kiln just right, you'll know exactly how to do it again.

SNAP NOW, FILL IN LATER

Hands covered in clay? Take a quick photo and keep working. Add the stage, dimensions, clay body and next step once your hands are clean. Save an idea with reference photos, a source link and notes, and it will be waiting when you're ready to make it.

EVERY STEP, EVERY GLAZE LAYER

Follow a piece from throwing or handbuilding through trimming, bisque and glaze firing. Record glazes in the order you applied them, with coats, area and application method. Set up your clay bodies and glazes once, then reuse them on every piece.

FIND WHAT WORKED

Search one place instead of your camera roll, notebooks and sticky notes. Pull up every piece made with a glaze, clay body or technique and see how each one turned out. All your photos come together in one Gallery.

SEE HOW YOU'RE GROWING

Follow your skills and milestones through pieces you actually made. When a piece deserves it, turn it into a finished-piece card or share the whole process as slides.
