By Pixelo Mobile Ltd, from Google Play“Wainwright's Coast to Coast: offline GPS maps, all 16 stages & trail notes.”
Description by Pixelo Mobile Ltd Written by the developer, not by AppBrain. Click to read.
Devised by Alfred Wainwright in his 1973 guidebook, the Coast to Coast runs 190 miles (306 km) clear across northern England and is now an official National Trail.
Coast to Coast Walk gives you what you need on the trail, online or off:
- Offline maps: download the route and navigate by GPS even with no signal, across the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors.
- Stage-by-stage guide: all 16 stages from St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay, each with distance, ascent, walking time and difficulty.
- Elevation profiles: see the climbs and descents before you set off.
- Underfoot and terrain: what you walk on (footpath, bridleway, track, lane) by distance for every stage.
- Water and refill points: taps, springs and village stops near the route, so you can plan the dry stretches.
- Heritage and nature: the history, geology, wildlife and scenic highlights along the way.
- Live GPS position: see exactly where you are on the trail.
Whether you walk the full 190 miles (306 km) in one trip or tackle it stage by stage, Coast to Coast Walk keeps the route, navigation and trail notes in your pocket.
Coast to Coast Walk is a trail guide and navigation aid, not a safety or emergency service.
Not affiliated with or endorsed by the official Coast to Coast Path National Trail or Natural England. Route information is provided for guidance only - always carry a map and compass, and check the weather and conditions before you set out.
Recent changes:
New in the packing list: a shop icon on the eSIM and travel insurance items, so you can sort both before you set off. It helps us keep the app free for everyone.
Smoother on the trail: the hike screen no longer redraws everything every second, the map stays put when your signal comes and goes, and your walked line stays on it.
If a trail download fails, the app now retries patiently instead of starting over at every reconnect, saving data and battery.
Plus small fixes.
