Color Blindness Test

Color blindness, also known as color vision deficiency, is a condition where individuals have difficulty distinguishing certain colors due to issues with the cells in the eye called cones. There are three types of cones sensitive to different wavelengths of light: red, green, and blue. When one or more of these cones are absent or malfunctioning, it can lead to color blindness.

Color blindness is most commonly a genetic condition, passed down from parents to children, though it can also result from eye diseases, aging, or exposure to certain chemicals. The most common types are red-green color blindness, where individuals struggle to distinguish between red and green, and blue-yellow color blindness, which is rarer.

There are different degrees of color blindness. Some individuals might be completely unable to see certain colors, while others can only have difficulty distinguishing specific ones. There are various tests and visual aids designed to detect color blindness, such as the Ishihara test, which is widely used. This test involves a series of pages with colored dots, where numbers are embedded within them. People with normal color vision can see the numbers clearly, while those with color blindness may struggle to identify them.
