COLORIST: coloring therapy

Colorist is a coloring application that helps children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and their tutors. It was developed by Nika Entertainment in collaboration with pediatricians, Centers for Autism Treatment and ASD children tutors. After testing numerous cognitive behavioural therapy approaches and findings, we have come up with an interactive coloring book that would not only be fun. It would make a difference for those in need!

It is a powerful instrument to help ASD kids quickly concentrate and calm down right before the lesson - in a comfortable playful environment.

Here are just a few of the effects therapists and tutors of the kids with ASD can achieve with the coloring app:

Improving the persistence
Enhancement of focusing and concentration
Developing fine motor skills
Revealing the artistic potential
Reducing aggression & irritability

At the same time, the therapy sessions are short - just 5-15 minutes, and work very naturally as a part of the treatment.

The application is an ultimate mandala coloring book with ornaments of various complexity levels. It was important for us to make it interactive - thus, we have created a live effect when the coloring book starts blooming in action. It was also important for us to offer a wide variety of the preset arts and a possibility to upload own images to colour. And lastly, it was important for us to create a meditative and soothing effect - which we achieved with a combination of drawing, sounds and calming light.
