I tried half a dozen podcast apps and ended up starting to write a spec for my dream app. Then I found this, one of the easiest podcast apps to operate, reliable and automatable. There are many options which makes navigating the settings a challenge, but they are each comprehensively described in-app, along with what the default behavior is, so the settings pages are effectively the manual. Now it's set up to find, download, sort and housekeep my favorite podcasts so all I do is press play.

One day, so many UI/UX updates that the podcasts I attended were gone with the recent update. The old version was super usable for years, and I barely use this app anymore, using a different medium to listen to podcasts.

Anything that interrupts me to say "rate me pls" gets a 1-star Edit: thanks, Xavier but the rating still stands. It's annoying and unnecessary 2025, and you're still doing this. I've rated, I've tried to turn the notifications off, and you still do it. It is not a good feature 2026, and we're still doing this, stop already. I've rated you already you do not need to keep asking. The one-star stands edit: it's not a lie because I literally have been told to rate it again. one-star stands did it again

The player is okay however good luck starting a new podcast as you cannot start from Ep1 and some of my ones have almost 1000 episodes. Why not have an option/setting to select orders first, might be an idea.
