Comments on SmartNavi - GPS independ. Navi for Android

★★★★★ Jerry Leewright · Aug 6, 2016

Such an amazing idea and functionality It's not precisely accurate, but it's close enough. I don't use it every day, it's a just-in-case app that I stumbled upon. I can't believe there isn't more navigation apps like this! Well done. Just one question though. Could there possibly be a way to not have mock locations checked for background location service to be used? Maybe in a future update? I'd love for this battery saving step based navigation to work alongside Pokémon Go! It could make the game run twice as long or more on a full charge.

Quite a nice implementation Dead reckon with GPS off works reasonably well. But I wonder if full inertial navigation using gyroscopes and accelerometers would give a more accurate dead reckon position ? Also, not sure if its checking is compass sensor needs calibration or not. PS you can "move" by shaking the phone when it's facing the way you want to go :-)

SmartNavi I turned it on through Developer Options, turned off my GPS and nothing happened. I turned GPS back on and it located me. So why do I need this again?

Sony Mini Pro not supported Market says "app is compatible with your Sony SK17i but Sony mini pro is *not* supported: "SmartNavi cannot start because of a sensor-error. If you have Android 4.x and your device has no gyroscope, Android will not be able to calculate some necessary sensor data."

It says I'm in Oklahoma when I'm in Nebraska =(sad
