I've tried many different paid language apps and Mango is the only one that sticks. I'm using it to reclaim my Urdu and learn Spanish. I did have to turn off the annoying English voice over though, it sounds artificial, and I found it distracting.

Irish Gaelic for me! Learn words/phrases, then they have you make links to previous phrases or conjugations. Just enough challenge to engage with the language beyond parroting. Record yr own voice, til you're happy with pronunciation, lovely. They explain a brief cultural context or rule here and there. One suggestion is that some lessons be purely "parts of speech" based. A "who, what, when, where, why, how" lesson, or "past present future tenses" rather than grouping by context/situation

Proud to contribute to ruining this already low 2.9-star rating. Why does every language learning app need to teach most useless things, at snail speed, AND lock everything behind a paywall!? If most you are going to teach me is "Weather is nice today" with no explanation whatsoever on conjugations or grammar, then just make the app be paid. I'm not recommending this one.
