Widget doesn't auto start song search. I don't know how long ago this started happening, but hitting the ID Now widget, I would then have to re-hit the button to ID the playing song. Before, Hitting the widget would automatically start the search. It's very annoying especially when you can tell the song is about to end soon. Other than that, I love Sound Hound. I've been using it for years discovering so many new genres to flesh out my library.

This app is truly amazing. It can identify songs in a matter of seconds, never had it fail me yet. While the ads aren't that intrusive, I got the paid version because the developer truly deserves the support. As a matter of fact, I'm so impressed that I bought stock in the company (to be clear I gave my first 5-Star review of Sound Hound almost a year before investing.... my positive review is not for personal gain, but purely to give an honest opinion for anyone considering getting the app.

Doesn't have digital listening. So you can't play the song through your headphones, instead you have to play it through your speakers into your microphone, unlike shazam. But shazam has a terrible audio range and struggles with any songs that aren't popular on spotify

Used to be a great app but doesn't really work anymore. Open, hit the button and sits there listing. But can never find the song anymore. Over the past year through 2024 and 2025, just doesn't work....

In its early days Sound Hound used to work quite well. But with just a hint of background noise it fails to identify most songs these days unless the music is the only thing playing. It barely ever works to identify songs now. You'd think in the days of music played with content or at a loud restaurant, Sound Hound would've adapted and figured a way to identify songs in the background like YouTube videos or busy settings. A completely useless app.
