The pricing model is ridiculous. £20/year. I already own the shorter Oxford English Dictionary (2 volumes) so I've already paid copyright. £1000 over a single lifetime ownership is just absurd. I was looking at paying £20 for a copy, now I'll just delete it, crazy The developer response ignored my comment, I wasn't complaining about ads, I'm complaining that I can't just make a single payment, like the book. I take it from the developer comment, that he is not the holder of the OED content.

I find the contemporary practice of demanding a recurring monthly tribute for the mere consultation of the English vocabulary to be a piece of absolute, ungodly absurdity. It is a scheme entirely devoid of academic nobility, and I am utterly disinclined to indulge it. I would rather dine with the plague than pay for this ungodly absurdity.

I paid for a subscription because I genuinely like the Oxford Dictionary. Unfortunately this app sucks. A lot of words that I would regard as very basic do not come up when you search. Despite having the premium subscription there is no way to back up & transfer any of your saved favorites to another device. The "help" section for mobi systems is completely useless, and checking the forums anytime a user asks a question all they get is a canned response "we're discussing it with our team"
