Ads have appeared in the interface where the currently playing area is. Don't see why these are here in a purchased application. Now a subscription popup has been added, will be looking for a new alternative. Edit: My original purchase has been honored and ads removed, so I am fully satisfied with Pod kicker. As it stands for new users, the ads and popups for recommended podcasts in the free version are an annoyance, but it does still have the features that made me a user for a decade.

Had an issue regarding having paid for premium to suddenly have ads etc. Contacted them via email and within ten minutes had a code sent to me for me to redeem on the play store to have my premium features reinstated. Good resolution 👍

Bought the pro version a while back to support this clean and simple podcast player, which also came with ad removal. In the latest update the author has added ads back in along with a subscription to remove them - no, thank you... Update: dev asked me to "restore purchases" - in the end the app I paid for (Pod kicker Pro) was removed and replaced by the non-Pro version when the app changed owners. Now with ads and subscription model. No, thanks - Antenna Pod ftw
