Text editing feels genuinely professional — a real step up for me. The best free Evernote replacement app! It works with Linux which is a must for me. (I am Anti-Windows! If you're still stuck on Windows? I'm sorry you are still enslaved.) This app is GREAT for writers, lyrics, notes, Journaling, documenting information, etc. and it sinks to all your devices. Works great on Linux. And there are NO ads.

Cancelled Notes nook Pro within the window and have PADDLE's cancellation confirmation email — yet was still baffling PADDLE charged NZ$138 anyway. Support (Muhammad Ali) was rude, blamed me, and refused a clearly documented refund. Cross-platform sync is broken, needing manual fixes never disclosed at signup. A "privacy-first" app that treats customers dishonestly fails its own ethics. Escalating to Paddle, PayPal, and NZ Consumer Protection. Avoid — marketing doesn't match the service.

I switched to Notes nook because of its privacy focus, clean interface, and built-in sync across devices. I even planned to upgrade to Premium later since it was reasonably priced. Then the developers unexpectedly moved all sync and backup features behind the paywall, losing notes to their greediness. When I asked about it on their Telegram group, there were no clear answers. That broke my trust. I deleted my account and went back to Google Keep. Not worth it. See beyond paid reviews. 💩💩💩💩💩

The essentials plan is kind of a joke. So many "basic" features are behind quite the paywall. I thought those features would be unlocked with the ESSENTIALS plan, but I guess I have a very different idea of what's essential. Locking phone number 2FA and choosing what notebook is your homepage is, is just greedy. It's a nice UI and I do like the app, but I'm constantly reminded how much I have to pay for some basic tools. What a shame.
