Comments on WireGuard for Android

★★★★★ Andreas Kirchwitz · Aug 16, 2026

Amazingly simple app to establish a WireGuard-based VPN tunnel to a pre-configured server, either your own or any public provider. This app works only by manual interaction. In the app, a specific tunnel is turned on or off by a switch. For fancy setups or automated tunnels use other apps.

★★★★★ Jacob Champ · Jul 29, 2026

yay I can connect to a computer at home to do home stuff instead of whatever the other vpns do that prevents self-hosting!

★★★★☆ Mario Mustapic · Aug 17, 2026

Works as advertised. But I'm missing some of the features. List with auto-apply profile is needed. You list the available wi-fi networks (from saved networks in phone) and allow us to choose any profile which will be used per network. Also add another list which will serve as 'blacklist'; There are networks where I have to use vpn, and then there are somewhere I don't. (android auto Wi-Fi)

Absoutle garbage. Follow the instructions to connect nothing works. I am not surprised. Don't waste your time or money like I have. There is much better out there

★☆☆☆☆ Akram St · Sep 28, 2026

I'm experiencing a serious bug where the app runs normally for a while, then suddenly shuts down and restarts multiple times. This makes my entire phone stutter heavily and get hotter, and eventually I lose the VPN connection completely. I then have to manually reconnect. I've already allowed the app to run in the background with no restrictions, but it hasn't helped. I can't even stay connected to a ProtonVPN free server freely? Even their own app doesn't produce this. Your client sucks NGL

Do not work on android correctly - bad address - I imported perfectly working tunnels and those don't work on android - same Wi-Fi as other devices
