Compass: GPS Field & Altimeter

Find your direction. Know your location. Record every route.

Compass is a precision field instrument for Android — combining a real-time compass, GPS positioning, altimeter, barometric pressure monitor, GPS speedometer, and activity tracker in one premium dark-mode app. Hiking a trail, cycling a route, or working in the field — Compass gives you every reading you need.

🧭 REAL-TIME COMPASS

A smooth, responsive compass needle updated continuously from your phone's magnetometer. Shows all 16 direction names (N, NNE, NE, ENE, E, ESE, SE, SSE, S, SSW, SW, WSW, W, WNW, NW, NNW) with 0°–360° readings.

• Heading accuracy within ±5°
• Smooth rotation — no lag, no jitter
• Magnetic interference warning icon when near metals or magnets
• Sensor calibration guide built in
• Screen reader support for accessibility
• Works without GPS — pure magnetometer compass

📍 GPS COORDINATES & POSITIONING

Know exactly where you are. Latitude and longitude in DMS format with a live GPS accuracy radius.

• Coordinates: 105°49′26″ E · 21°1′10″ N
• GPS accuracy shown in meters (e.g., ±8 m)
• Location name and live temperature, refreshed every 10 minutes
• Offline: shows last-known data with timestamp

⛰️ ALTITUDE, PRESSURE & WIND

Three key readings always on the compass screen — no switching required.

• Altitude: barometric pressure sensor (GPS fallback on devices without sensor)
• Atmospheric pressure: displayed in kPa (kilopascals)
• Wind direction: live reading from weather service (e.g., NNW Wind)

📊 FULL SENSOR DATA DASHBOARD

Every available sensor reading in one scrollable screen. Altitude card pinned at top, with 6 sensor groups:

• GPS Coordinates — latitude, longitude, altitude, accuracy
• Air Data — temperature, humidity, wind direction and speed
• Magnetic Field — compass heading and field strength in μT
• Pressure — barometric pressure, pressure-derived altitude
• Boiling Point — water boiling temperature at current altitude
• Weather — live conditions, UV index, visibility
• Daily Altitude Chart — hourly bars with daily high/low markers

🏃 ACTIVITY TRACKER & ROUTE RECORDER

Select activity type and tap start. GPS route drawn live on the map — continues recording when screen is off or you switch apps.

Activity types: Walking · Running · Mountain Hiking · Cycling

Live stats: elapsed time · total GPS distance · accurate distance (high-confidence GPS only) · average speed · peak speed · temperature

Map styles: Standard · Dark · Satellite.

📸 GPS PHOTO — STAMP PHOTOS WITH LOCATION

Snap or select a photo — Compass attaches your GPS coordinates and altitude automatically. A precise location record for field workers, surveyors, hikers, and photographers documenting exact locations.

🚗 GPS SPEEDOMETER

Precision analog speedometer (0–240 km/h) driven entirely by GPS. Opens the tab and starts measuring instantly — no vehicle connection, no setup.

Displays: current speed · max speed · average speed · total distance · accurate distance · altitude · compass heading
