Compost Turn

Compost Turn is an offline-first home compost pile manager for backyard and balcony composters who run one named bin or heap at a time. Open the app to a fullscreen pile-thermo: a vertical cross-section of your active pile with a glowing core-temperature band (°C/°F), greens-to-browns balance bars, moisture state chip, last-turn marker, and a ready-estimate ribbon. Typed logs only—no sensors, camera, or location. Record greens and browns additions, core temperature readings, moisture checks, and turn dates. The pile-thermo updates phase (mesophilic, thermophilic, curing) and a simple ready window from those entries. All data stays on-device. KEY FEATURES Fullscreen pile-thermo See heat, balance, moisture, last turn, and readiness on one clear surface for the active bin. Multi-bin switcher Name piles such as Back Bin or Tumbler A with material, volume hint, and start date. One active pile drives the thermo. Greens & browns add sheet Pick or type material, wet/dry class, and approximate volume or weight. Optional C:N tips from a built-in seed library of common kitchen scraps, leaves, cardboard, grass, and more—editable favorites included. Core temperature log Manual °C/°F entry with date and time, plotted on a compact history strip under the thermo band. Moisture check Three-state control (too dry / just right / too wet) with optional note; updates the moisture chip on the pile surface. Turn recorder Mark a turn complete, store before/after notes, and schedule the next suggested turn interval from recent heat trend. Phase & ready estimate Derives mesophilic → thermophilic → curing from temperature history and turn count, then shows a plain-language ready window. Timeline Chronological feed of additions, temps, moisture checks, and turns for the active pile. Local reminders Notifications for next turn or overdue thermo check. Units and default intervals are adjustable in preferences. Built so home composters know when to turn, what to add, and when the batch is ready—without generic notes or garden journals. Works fully offline.
