ConvoyTalk is a dead-simple push-to-talk app for groups travelling together — road trips, 4WD convoys, caravans, motorbike groups, or any time you need to talk car-to-car. One big button: hold to talk, release to listen. Just like a UHF radio.
NO SIGNAL? NO PROBLEM. ConvoyTalk's local mode works with zero mobile reception and zero internet. One phone turns on its WiFi hotspot and taps Host; everyone else joins the hotspot and taps Join. That's the whole setup — no accounts, no sign-up, nothing to configure. Perfect for remote tracks, national parks, and anywhere the bars disappear.
GOT SIGNAL? UNLIMITED RANGE. Internet mode connects your group over mobile data using private channel names, with an optional PIN to keep your channel private. Browse active channels before joining, see who's on channel any time, and invite a mate with a tap-to-join link — no app required on their end.
NO SIGNAL? CREATE A MESH NETWORK In a worlds first, Mesh mode creates a self aware, self healing mesh that extends the wifi range, creating a multi hop network that knows exactly who each node can reach and finding the best path with fewest relaying hops. Move in and out of range seamlessly with no reconnection issues and no additional hardware required. If your phone isn't capable, No worries, you can piggyback in via other nodes without missing any of the action. SIMPLE BY DESIGN - One giant HOLD TO TALK button, easy to hit on a dash mount - Volume-button push-to-talk, and hands-free VOX mode - HAIL chirp and one-tap quick messages - Live convoy radar showing distance, bearing, and speed for your group - Screen stays awake while the app is open, like a real radio - Remembers your settings between trips - PTT button overlay when app is backgrounded so you can stay in contact when using other apps. - Even send pictures to the group or a single user with the option to allow or disallow saving/screenshotting.
WHAT TO EXPECT Local hotspot mode is designed for close-range convoys: roughly 30–100 m line of sight between vehicles, ideal for slow trail driving, campsites, and touring in tight formation. One user hosts and everyone else connects to them. For highway spacing, use Internet mode. Voice is streamed live and never recorded or stored.
