CoughPro has been redesigned from top to bottom to be faster, capture more coughs, and give you more insights into your cough so that you can manage it better.
When we want to manage our weight, we use a bathroom scale. When we want to increase our activity, we count our steps. And when we have a fever, we use a thermometer to gauge how high it is. But until now, with cough, we just guessed whether it was high or low, increasing or decreasing, happening more at one time of the day or night.
CoughPro solves this problem by detecting and quantifying your cough passively and unobtrusively on your phone, so you know the frequency and patterns of your coughing. It gives you clarity about your cough, by instantly showing you your cough count.
CoughPro, powered by Hyfe, uses artificial intelligence to distinguish between coughs and other, similar sounds. It preserves your privacy by performing all of the acoustic analysis on your phone, so your data stays with you.

Like the concept, which is of course why I installed it, however the accuracy was only about 70% correct. Definitely did not capture coughs that I was aware of, and then would capture several "coughs" when I was moving chairs, opening doors, etc. For the most part, the counts were of enough value that I kept this installed for a day. What caused me to uninstall it was that though the app ran just fine for the first 24 hours, as soon as it went to running in the background it drained my phone battery in about 3 hours, using over 60% of the battery life just for this app. This makes the app completely unusable unless you would be using it with the phone plugged in next to a stationary person. If that is the case, it may be better to design an app for an Amazon Echo or Google Home as those objects are already designed to be listening all the time and are used plugged in.

I have been tracking for a month. However, it is wildly inaccurate. I have just been out for an hour walk and didn't cough once. To be told by the app I had coughed more than 60 times. On other occasions it has picked up random noises and marked them as coughs, including the dog barking. I already have anxiety about the decline in my lung capacity following pneumonia. This is terrifying me into an early grave.
