CounterSpell is an open source project that aims to give any Magic: The Gathering player the best possible life tracking app, with a special focus on EDH.

I've avoided using MTG apps before, because I like the tactile feeling of tracking things by hand, but commander games can get very complicated, and I have a terrible memory. This app has a lovely modular interface and the customization gives it a nice touch. This is a hefty feature request, but it's the thing I struggle with the most: would you consider adding a way to track ability and +1/+1 counters? Also, to dock multiple counters on one screen, so I can check them all at once? Thank you!

I've tried most of the life counters in the play store and this is the best 1 for multiplayer games in my opinion.

For a 4+ player game, a life app needs to have zero learning curve. Everyone at the table has to use it, so it should be instantly obvious how it works. Unfortunately, this isn't. It takes some getting used to, figuring out the timing and everything, which really gets in the way of the game when 5 people all have to learn it. I really like some of the features on this app, like the commander art backgrounds and stuff, but none of that really matters if the app doesn't work well. Simple is best.

I Miss The Old Layout This was my absolute favorite a couple of years ago, because it put things into a list-like format I could easily manage on my own. Now it just looks like every other app, with the irritating UI that means I have to leave my phone in the middle of the table and have everyone reach over to track their own stuff. I would still have rated high for functionality, but the UI change straight up makes me angry, and I don't like using it anymore.
